Atkinson AI Discovery Lab

AI comes to you. The Atkinson AI Discovery Lab is being developed as a mobile demonstration and learning environment where organizations and communities can see, try, learn and understand modern AI in a practical setting.

AI comes to you

See it. Try it. Learn it. Use it.

The Discovery Lab is intended to make artificial intelligence tangible. Rather than asking every organization to travel to a technology centre, AFA plans to bring demonstrations, education and guided conversations directly to customer and community sites.

See it

Short demonstrations make abstract AI concepts visible.

Try it

Hands-on stations let participants interact with real tools and interfaces.

Learn it

Guided explanations connect capability to governance, safety and responsible use.

Use it

Follow-up workshops, training and architecture conversations turn curiosity into organizational capability.

What the mobile environment is intended to demonstrate

A compact cross-section of the AFA stack.

Microsoft Copilot & agents

Workplace AI, bounded agents, responsible use and the relationship between AI and organizational information.

Private & local AI

Demonstrate why some workloads may benefit from customer-controlled or locally processed intelligence.

Accelerated AI workstations

Show how modern AI compute changes what can be done on-site or in private environments.

Spatial computing

Use immersive interfaces to explain AI, data, physical environments and future workflows.

Physical AI & robotics

Demonstrate perception, embodied intelligence, robotics concepts and human-machine interaction.

AI education & governance

Executive briefings, school/community education and practical discussions about safe adoption.

Reference Lab + Discovery Lab

One develops depth. The other extends reach.

The proposed Toronto Sovereign AI & Physical AI Reference Lab is intended to support deeper technical evaluation and development. The mobile Discovery Lab is intended to carry selected demonstrations, learning and customer engagement outward.

Reference Lab

Private AI, model evaluation, accelerated computing, simulation, agents and Physical AI in a controlled Toronto environment.

Status

In development—not represented as an operating mobile service yet.

The public purpose of this page is to explain the direction. Availability, schedule, equipment and deployment scope will be published when the mobile lab is ready to operate.

Development principle

Do not confuse a strong concept with a finished service. AFA will update the status when the vehicle, equipment, operating procedures and booking model are ready.

Interested in the future Discovery Lab?

Tell AFA what audience, site or demonstration would be useful. This is an expression-of-interest conversation, not a booking confirmation.
